Here is the forth offering from this Finish power metal band; Evolution 4.0 presents an exciting sound over 11 tracks, bringing a more relaxed sound that what would be expected in the genre. Although heavy in many parts this album brings just less than 48 minutes of almost pure radio friendly material, such as song "Face in the Mirror" that reached the Finnish final for Eurovision 2007.
With more of a classic style this album is melodic, with a quite powerful guitars. Driving the music to a more hard rock feel than a power metal feel. Backed with an almost understated use of keyboard. Vocals are easy likeable but are of similar nature of American post-grunge, giving this album a unique sound.
Song structure is basic, making most of the tracks predictable, but reassuringly enjoyable. Instantly catchy as these tracks are, they refuse to stick in the mind for very long after, and unfortunately most of the tracks are easily forgotten.
